Atkins Nutritionals just recently announced they are filing for Chapter eleven bankruptcy protection. It appears that the “low carb craze” was nothing more than simply a passing fad. Well my friends I have come to both praise and bury the Atkins Diet.

I first found low carb diet programs aproximatelly 15 years back — well before the recent recognition of theirs. The first introduction of mine was by way of a guide entitled “The Endocrine Control Diet.” Like the Atkins Diet and other low carbohydrate diets for that matter, it was based on a severely limited carbohydrate intake — less than 50 grams of carbohydrates every single day. I was amazed at how fast I managed to drop weight on the diet plan. If memory serves properly, I dropped fifteen lbs in little over a week.
